BIOGRAPHY

Born on February 5, 1977, Lt. Andrew James Baldwin M.D. spent his formative years in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and is a graduate of Manheim Township High School, where he was an All-American swimmer and was the class valedictorian. He studied at Duke University on a full ROTC scholarship, and eventually earned a degree in Biology, with an emphasis in genetics. After graduating magna cum laude, Baldwin enlisted for the US Navy, where he gained the rank of lieutenant. In 2003, he completed his medical studies at UCSF and was a surgical intern at Naval Hospital-San Diego. He presently serves as Mobile Diving Salvage Unit One’s Dive “Doc” in Pearl Harbor and holds residence in Kaneohe, Hawaii.

Baldwin has been chosen as the next bachelor for the tenth season of ABC network’s reality series, The Bachelor. Because of his naval background, the current season has been given the name, The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman, in reference to the film starring Richard Gere and Debra Winger. Coincidentally, Baldwin’s former girlfriend, Kerry Phyilliaer, was a contestant on the fourth season of the show.
