It's Team Dance time on Dancing with the Stars season 24. The eight remaining couples are being split along gender lines for a battle of Boy Bands vs. Girl Groups.

In terms of the stars, the women seem to have an advantage with high-scoring dancers Simone Biles, Normani Kordei, Heather Morris and Nancy Kerrigan, aka four of the top five stars this season in tersm of judges' scores. But the male stars have skills of their own, with three athletes and plenty of sex appeal.

It might be more interesting to look at the match-ups of their professional partners. The Girl Group team is loaded with Russians including Sasha Farber, Artem Chigvintsev and the Chmerkovskiy brothers while the female pros are well-represented with past winner Peta Murgatroyd as well as Emma Slater, Sharna Burgess and Lindsay Arnold. Sharna and Lindsay have become regular staples in the final weeks of the competition in recent years.

The team dances were first introduced in season 7, though it wasn't until the All-Stars season that it became a regular feature at the Top 8, with two teams of four couples battling it out. With 17 seasons of previous team dances, here's a look at how the pro partners have done when it comes to scoring from the judges.

Who Has Competed in the Most Team Dances?

It should come as no surprise that Derek Hough has participated in the most team dances, 15, reaching the team dance every season he's competed in. In second place on that list is a tie with 10 team dances between Cheryl Burke, Mark Ballas and, including his appearance in season 24, Val Chmerkovskiy. Here are the top pros, including season 24.

15: Derek Hough
10: Mark Ballas, Cheryl Burke and Val Chmerkovkisy
8: Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd
7: Sharna Burgess and Kym Johnson
6: Karina Smirnoff

Who Has the Most Team Wins?

Again, the answer is Derek with an impressive 12 wins (along with two losses and a tie). Second on the list is Cheryl and third place goes to Sharna, who has had an impressive run in recent years.

12 wins: Derek Hough
6 wins: Cheryl Burke
4 wins: Sharna Burgess
3 wins: Mark Ballas, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Val Chmerkovskiy, Kym Johnson and Peta Murgatroyd

Who Has the Most Team Losses?

When it comes to the team dances, two pros are currently tied for the most losses. Mark and Val have both lost five times, though Val could surge ahead in this category if his team loses in season 24. However, if Val wins this year's team dance, then that would result in Peta's fifth loss, tying her for this dubious honor.

5 losses: Mark Ballas and Val Chmerkovskiy
4 losses: Cheryl Burke, Tony Dovolani and Peta Murgatroyd
3 losses: Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Sasha Farber and Karina Smirnoff

Who Is Undefeated in Team Dances?

Out of the 20 pros who have competed in multiple team dances, only three can claim that they've never lost. Allison Holker has one win and one tie while Chelsie Hightower and Artem Chigvintsev each have two wins and one tie. Artem is the only one of these pros competing in season 24, so he can either extend his non-losing streak or end it.

Who Has Never Won a Team Dance?

Out of those same 20 pros who've competed in multiple team dances, only two have never won. Lacey Schwimmer competed in two team dances and lost both times while Sasha Farber has been to three team dances and lost all of them. For season 24, Sasha is looking to finally win a team dance or extend his losing streak.

So who does this favor for season 24's team dances? Since Sharna is on an impressive winning streak, Sasha has never won and Val is tied for the most losses, Team Boy Band certainly has the edge. However, you can't ignore the overwhelming skill disparity since the female stars and their male pros have regularly received much higher scores all season long.
