There’s only one new episode left before NCIS begins saying goodbye to original cast member Pauley Perrette. The actress shared photos on Twitter with her costars and revealed when we will see her last episode playing Forensic Specialist Abby Sciuto.

In October, the actress announced her departure from the CBS series at the end of the season on Twitter. She had written, “It was a decision made last year. I hope everyone will love and enjoy EVERYTHING ABBY not only for the rest of this season but for everything she has given all of us for 16 years.”

Perrette’s first tweet showed pictures with the actors who play McGee, Palmer, Bishop and Torres. It looks like it got emotional on set for Perrette by the time she took that last photo.

In her second tweet, the actress revealed that Abby’s exit is a two-parter. While we don’t have any information as of yet about either episode, we do know that the May 1 episode is titled “One Step Forward.”

For now, we can only speculate about why Abby leaves NCIS (unless she gets an offer for another position in the agency?) — and why it occurs two episodes before the finale (airing May 22.) Could Abby be planning to take a step forward in her career? Even if that’s the case, something could happen to her. It seems unlikely that NCIS would kill off Abby, but anything’s possible. However she leaves, we should see how the team deals with her absence in the remaining two episodes of the season.

How do you think NCIS is going to write out Abby? Tell us your theories in the comments!

If it’s on TV — especially if it’s a procedural or superhero show — chances are Meredith watches it. She has a love for all things fiction, starting from a young age with ER and The X-Files on the small screen and the Nancy Drew books. Arrow kicked off the Arrowverse and her true passion for all things heroes. She’s enjoyed getting into the minds of serial killers since Criminal Minds, so it should be no surprise that her latest obsession is Prodigal Son.
