Valentine's Day is almost here, which means it's time to get in the mood for junk food, booze and cheesy rom-coms. In honor of the most romantic day of the year, we've put together a list of movies that will evoke laughter (and maybe tears) and make your heart flutter.

One of the most popular romantic French films, Amelie tells the story of a naive waitress, played by Tautou, who decides to change the lives of people around her though complex acts of kindness. Along the way, the girl who always does things for others eventually discovers love and finds happiness herself. It's whimsical, funny and the kind of movie you watch when you want to feel good.

Sabrina

A remake of the 1954 film that starred Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn and William Holden, Sabrina is essentially a cross between The Ugly Duckling and Cinderella. Though not a box-office hit, it's a Sydney Pollack classic that fulfills the fairtytale fantasy through the story of Sabrina Fairchild, the daughter of the Larrabee family's chauffeur, who goes through a remarkable transformation and finds herself torn between her first love, carefree playboy David Larrabee, and his workaholic brother Linus Larrabee. 

Love Actually

From the makers of Bridget Jones's Diary and Notting Hill, Love Actually taps on various kinds love through intertwining stories of several British couples. It's not your typical full-length narrative and it's heartbreaking to some extent yet you'll find yourself relating to most of its characters.

The Notebook intends to make you cry and fall in love with Noah and Allie, whose summer romance turns into an epic love story that withstands the test of time. Arguably the best and most popular Nicholas Sparks film, The Notebook is a must-watch if you're a hopeless romantic.

A playboy afraid of commitment makes a 180-degree turn when he meets the girl of his dreams. The Cutting Edge is a classic rom-com about the pursuit of love and dreams. The film revolves around a spoiled figure skater and former hockey player who are reluctantly paired for Olympic figure skating. Besides giving a timely nod to the Olympics, the movie also gives you all the feels.

When Harry Met Sally

This Nora Ephron movie poses the question, "Can men and women ever just be friends?" through the story of Harry and Sally as they go from strangers to confidants to lovers.

Sleepless in Seattle

Sleepless in Seattle, yet another Nora Ephron classic, is arguably the mother of all chick flicks. The film takes a page from An Affair to Remember, the 1957 romance film starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr, and follows a widowed man's son's attempt to find his father a partner.
