ABC finally announced The Bachelor's next leading man but he was nowhere near what fans were expecting. Peter Kraus, Eric Bigger, Wells Adams and Ben Zorn were some of the contestants being considered. However, the coveted position ultimately went to Arie Luyendyk Jr.-- a name that seemingly came out of nowhere. Not surprisingly, Bachelor fans and stars from the franchise had mixed reactions about the reality dating series' new leading man.

The Bachelor Season 22: Who Is Arie Luyendyk Jr.?>>>

Luyendyk, in case you're not aware, is Emily Maynard's runner-up on The Bachelorette in 2012. The 35-year-old race car driver is obviously not the most popular choice and some viewers don't even know him but some welcome the unconventional choice.

The majority of Bachelor Nation, on the other hand, is notably disappointed about ABC's pick -- preferring Kraus, who some claim is too good for the franchise, or Adams, who seems to have the complete package. They also didn't like how the show "recycles" the Bachelor.
