After calling out Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss earlier this year for discouraging her tor join Dancing with the Stars, Bachelorette season 11 star Kaitlyn Bristowe still wants a shot at the Mirror Ball Trophy.
"Dancing is, honestly, it's a passion of mine," Bristowe told Entertainment Tonight
. "I've never done ballroom dancing, so that would be very new to me."
To date, there have been four Bachelor stars who have participated on Dancing with the Stars: Sean Lowe, Jake Pavelka, Chris Soules and Nick Viall. As for the women, there have only been two: Bachelor season 13 winner Melissa Rycroft, whom Jason Mesnick eventually left for Molly Malaney, and Trista Sutter, the first-ever Bachelorette star.
In February, Bristowe claimed that there was a double standard for the ABC dance competition series, adding that though she already had the contract, Fleiss told her she wasn't allowed and didn't want people wanting fame after his show.
If given the chance, Bristowe would join Dancing with the Stars but she also believes it won't happen.
"I think [my fiance] Shawn and I are in such a good place, too, that it wouldn't be like, we're jumpin' the gun and getting into another show," she said. "I think he'd be so supportive and I think it'd be fun, but I also don't think they'll do that."
On the other hand, Bristowe believes that current Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay will likely jump on board.
"I think that, because I stirred up a little bit of controversy and it got some backlash towards whoever, I think for sure, she'll go and do Dancing With the Stars now," she explained. "Just so they can be like, 'See! No, no, no. We do it for The Bachelorettes, too! See! We just did it!'"
Bristowe first competed for Chris Soules on The Bachelor season 20. She became The Bachelorette season 11 star and got engaged to Shawn Booth. The couple, who has been together for nearly two years, have been focused on charity events, marathon training and song writing.
