The women of the Real Housewives
franchise are meant to cause drama and controversy with their words. The women gossiping to each other about each other is an inherent part of any Real Housewives
show, no matter the city. Sometimes though those words can cross a line and have consequences. It's a lesson that RHOA
star Phaedra Parks is learning. It has been announced that the longtime star of Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta
will not be returning for season 10 after the hot water she landed in during the season 9 reunion special.
According to TMZ
Phaedra was fired. Meanwhile E! Online is reporting
that the reality TV star has simply been asked to not return. The bottom line of both reports is that Phaedra won't appear in The Real Housewives of Atlanta
The reason for the dismissal is evidently the rumors that Phaedra spread about fellow castmate, Kandi Burruss.
Real Housewives of Altanta fans have seen Phaedra and Kandi bickering all season about a rumor that Kandi was engaging in a sexual relationship with another woman. In the fourth part of the reunion it came out that Phaedra was telling others more than Kandi having a lesbian relationship. Phaedra told castmate Porsha Williams that Kandi and her husband Todd were planning on drugging and raping Porsha.
When Kandi got news of this rumor she threatened Bravo and did not want the network to air the footage under any circumstances. Bravo didn't air the clip but the matter was discussed in the last part of the four part Real Housewives of Altanta season 9 reunion special. It is also the core reason that Phaedra will no longer be on the show for season 10.
Bravo producers allegedly told Phaedra they couldn't allow to be on the show after the remarks. Phaedra was informed in early April that she would not be a part of season 10. Phaedra has not commented publicly on her leaving the show. Phaedra did however post a inspiration quote on her Instagram account which reads
, "Don't let yesterday take up too much of today."
Real Housewives of Atlanta
might already be at work with bringing on Phaedra's replacement too. When Real Housewives
mastermind Andy Cohen was asked if Kim Zolciak-Biermann will return to the show now that Phaedra is out, the host played coy. "Who knows? That's the conversation we start having next week," Cohen teased. But it seems like Kim is back
What do you think of Phaedra leaving the show? Is this the right move?
