The Voice coach Gwen Stefani is ready to go head-to-head against boyfriend Blake Shelton on season 12 of the NBC reality competition series, but is the romantic duo as competitive off-camera as they will surely be while compiling their respective vocal teams?

Gwen revealed during a recent appearance on The Today Show that the two have found a “natural” chemistry with one another both on-screen and off.

“[I love] the chemistry between the coaches!” Gwen said about The Voice season 12.

“Alicia Keys is just so magical. Adam [Levine] and I, we’ve known each other now for a while. And, of course, Blake, who I think is the greatest guy ever. It’s just so fun. It’s so easy and comfortable.”

“[Working with Blake made me] nervous at first. I was like, ‘Wait, is this going to be awkward? How am I going to act?’ It’s just natural,” she continued in the interview.

“We actually do help each other, and I’ve learned a lot about country music — just in the last year — through him,” she said of her relationship with the singing superstar.

Blake and Gwen continue to push forward their cuteness factor as a twosome on-stage as well. Gwen recently appeared on-stage with her love during Blake’s Forum shows of his “Doing It to Country” tour alongside his Voice protégée RaeLynn.

Together the couple performed their hit single, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” to an enthusiastic and supportive audience.

The twosome reportedly partied backstage after the show with family and friends who attended the event.

Gwen and Blake will compete against one another, Alicia Keys and Adam Levine in the quest to score the winning voice of season 12. It will be interesting to see how the season plays out as laid-back Alicia attempts to score her first win alongside the fierce competitiveness of Blake, Gwen and Adam.

The Voice will also have to walk a fine line between using Blake and Gwen’s relationship as an asset to the series versus a hindrance. It is risk the show is reportedly willing to take after season 11’s panel, which included Miley Cyrus, took heat from longtime viewers who criticized the former pop princess’s validity as a coach. During the course of the season, Miley won viewers over with her sincerity and will be returning to the series for season 13.

The Voice returns to NBC with the debut of season 12 on Monday, February 27 at 8/7c with coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani and Alicia Keys ready to find their next music superstar. Want more news? Like our Facebook page.
