All the television 'shippers out there understand the struggle of rooting for a couple, only to see their relationship fall apart all too quickly. One of the best parts of loving a show, is investing in its characters' love stories, and we are certainly deeply connected to them. These are 10 couples we're rooting for in the new year...hard. Some of them are actively in love, but others are still in the early stages of figuring out their feelings. Either way, we want these duos to win in 2018.SPOILER WARNING: This article contains spoilers about various TV shows from 2017.

Jackson and Maggie, Grey's AnatomyGrey's
is investing a lot of time in these two. Their burgeoning romance has been simmering for a while, and writers have thrown plenty of curveballs their way. Pseudo-incest being at the top of the list, by the way. Although they aren't quite together for real, we're certainly pulling for these two to figure out their baggage and just be together already. Lucifer and Chloe, Lucifer
These two have been hit and miss for season after season. They are among the most frustrating of couples because it's just so obvious they love each other. Whether it is divine intervention or just plain ol' human bad judgment, these two haven't been able to get together. Here's hoping they can overcome all the obstacles, supernatural or otherwise, and make a real go of it in 2018.
Jughead and Betty, Riverdale
Although these two have hit a rough patch recently, I have faith they'll find their way back to each other in 2018. Besides being just so cute together, they make an incredibly efficient crime-solving duo and being together is just a generally good idea for the entire town of Riverdale. They also have to stay together because I don't think we could stand an Archie/Betty match up.
I'm rooting for these two because I believe in love, damn it. They've defied the laws of time and space to be together and if they can't maintain their connection into the new year, then I don't even know what is real anymore. As a fan of the show, I've suffered too much in the last season and a half while they are apart, and I deserve a happily ever after, even if it is just temporary. Nancy and Jonathan, Stranger Things
Steve who? If there is a couple that needs to make it, it's Nancy and Jonathan. He's sweet, caring, artistic and knows his way around a Demogorgon like nobody's business. Besides, Steve is too busy taking care of Mike and the gang, leaving no time to devote to Nancy's romantic needs. Jonathan has what it takes, and it's just time he gets a break. He's earned it. Toby and Kate, This Is Us
These two have endured so much as a new couple. They've broken up, suffered loss and opened up to each other in really remarkable ways. We need for these two to survive the new year. I've cried enough tears watching this show to float a boat, and we are all due for some happy moments. Jonah and Amy, Superstore
OK, these two aren't technically a couple, but they definitely should be. The sexual tension is overwhelming, and these two spend more time trying to pretend they don't like each other than anything else. Now that Amy is divorced, the door is wide open for them to take a legitimate attempt at a real relationship in 2018. What could go wrong with a workplace romance, after all? June and Luke, The Handmaid's Tale
If the TV gods are listening, I hope they answer my wish to bring these two together in 2018, because of all the couples on the TV landscape who are working their way back to each other, June and Luke are the most deserving of them all. After spending all those years in Gilead, June (Offred) deserves a moment of happiness. Now that Luke is in Canada, hope is not lost that these two can find a way to be together. Charles and Liza, Younger
Of course it's never a good idea to start a relationship on lies, but in the case of Charles and Liza, I think we can make an exception. Even though he doesn't know her true age of 40, works as her direct superior and paired her with his ex-wife to edit her book, these two are meant to be. Now that Josh is a thing of the past, the path is clear for Liza and Charles to be together (and finally have the sex scene we've all been waiting for).See All the Best TV Moments of 2017 Here>>>
Jane and Rafael, Jane the Virgin
Perhaps the third time is the charm (or is it the fourth?) for these two. All the signs suggest these two should be together, but they continue to be more stubborn than smart. Every other relationship they've encountered has failed miserably, yet they always seem to come back to each other. They're best friends, soulmates and now it's time to bring them together as romantic partners.
