Biography

Brice Beckham is an American actor who was born on February 11, 1976 in Long Beach, California. He became well-known for his portrayal of young Wesley Owens in the 80s television sitcom Mr. Beldevere. He attended Walter B. Hill Junior High School, and started out acting in various school plays. He was also a California state speech champion for original prose and poetry during the early 90s. A man of numerous talents, Beckham is also gone on to write, direct and produce for stage and screen, and is a self-taught illustrator, animator, editor and graphic designer.

Brice Beckham later began working on a number of radio commercials, before appearing on several television series. Among these were Alice in 1984, The Wonder Years in 1991, and Roseanne in 1993. In 2001, Beckham decided to work on the films Silent Story and Behind the Mask. This was followed by roles in Deliverance: The Musical, where he worked on animating some scenes, and 2005’s The Confession. His next project became voice work for the film Shark Bait in 2006, where he portrayed two characters: the green gossiping fish and the cynical shark.

In 2007, Beckham landed the part of Corey in the VH1 television comedy series I Hate My 30s. His character required him to play an oddball who winds up shocked and dismayed at a recent divorce, who then seeks comfort and solace in his favorite novels. He’s especially fond of the “Wizard Larry” children’s book series, and tries to bury his pain by pretending to be one of his favorite characters, Professor Acrimonious Immpe. Beckham has also directed several episodes of the show, which he also co-wrote and executive produced.

Beckham has also been featured in The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, and was once a panelist in The New Hollywood Squares together with Christopher Hewitt.
